Augmented Reality City Kit

Overview

Augmented Reality is a table-dense cyberpunk city toolkit intended for live use at the table rather than passive setting reading. Its core premise is that cyberpunk games need fast, flavorful urban detail more than static sourcebook geography.

What It Provides

  • Location and neighborhood flavor tables.
  • Urban detail prompts and NPC scaffolds.
  • Flexible support for improvising any metroplex rather than a single fixed city.
  • System-agnostic utility for cyberpunk campaigns.

Major Table Families

  • Dice-drop neighborhood generation with building/activity/feature overlays.
  • Sense layers: Smells, Sounds, and Sights tables for instant scene texture.
  • People generators for civilians, fixers, gang members, corporate actors, and specialists.
  • Mr Johnson job generators (people- and object-centered contracts).
  • Corporate play tools such as boardroom maneuvers and resource leverage tables.
  • Street pressure tools: weather, urban hazards, local complications, and equipment oddities.

Fast Use Workflow (3-5 minutes)

  1. Roll one neighborhood/activity seed.
  2. Roll one each on Smells, Sounds, and Sights.
  3. Generate 2-3 nearby NPCs with one motive each.
  4. Add one active pressure (gang, corp, police, infrastructure failure, weather).
  5. Attach one job trigger from the Johnson generators.

This produces a playable city block with tone, actors, and immediate conflict.

Design Value

The book is especially useful for prep-light city play because it turns the urban environment into a generator of tone, complications, and texture. It pairs well with mission generators and rumor tables rather than replacing them.
